Reflect
2025 – Growth. Humility. Service.
My pursuit of knowledge continues to yield compounding value. Learning brings wonder, inspiration and appreciation. It helps me better understand the world, the people, and my place in it.
The past year was challenging, yet my optimism for a better future remains strong. I will take change and uncertainty over rose-coloured monotony.

Reset
I started job hunting this fall, after a 10-year break as a stay-at-home mom. In previous years, I felt an uncertainty about returning to work. This year, there was no hesitation.
I am ready.
100%
I knew that my lengthy career break would make it harder to get hired. My eagerness to find employment was matched by a fervent few months of applying to environmental/agricultural jobs. So far, my hunt has resulted in many rejections. Never one to wallow, these rejections have encouraged me to slow down and take time to discover the type of work best suited to my personality and skills. I am so grateful to be in a secure enough place that allows me the freedom to do this. I do not take this luxury for granted. I find inspiration in adversity, a spark of resilience that keeps me keepin’ on.
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” –Joseph P. Kennedy.

Refocus
I look forward to continuing my agrology-in-training program in 2026. I am currently focusing my attention on the Land Conservation and Management practice area. This area aligns most closely with my personal skills, interests, and career goals. It combines strong technical knowledge of environmental science with an economic and societal component. It seems like a challenging yet rewarding practice.
I am also beginning the long-awaited chapter in alternative dispute resolution. I have enrolled in a program and look forward to the opportunity to continue my growth in communication and conflict management.
I will continue volunteer work in my community. The opportunity to serve has boosted my energy and brought me much pride. Motivating others and seeing them improve is an immensely rewarding experience.
I am mostly taking 2026 in stride. I have some plans for January, and after that, I will follow the breadcrumb trail of opportunities. I hope to balance the busyness of life with the living of it.
